Letting Go & Moving Forward
The image above is one of the new duotones (Yellow + Black). It began in my Wild and Free series, where it was titled “Onward.” I’ve retitled it “Moving Forward” to reflect both the website changes and a personal shift in my life. Watch for my “New Look” in February.
Where It All Started
As I was walking through the cafe I glanced through the cafe’s window, into the arcade. Without stopping to think, I put my camera to my eye and clicked.
Nibbling at Contests & Exhibits
Throughout the year I apply to several juried exhibits and contests. I usually choose local exhibits but I do apply to international online contests and have had some success with both. It is always exciting to see my acceptance into one of these in my email box. I feel inspired and honored to be recognized.
AI (updated)
My dive into AI for my own work began in November of last year as I was going through images from our safari in Kenya. I was putting together a new series called “Wild and Free” and needed to create some room mockups for it.
Art Exhibits
My image “Journey” was accepted into the “Of Time and Place” Juried Exhibit at Viewpoint in Sacramento. I am honored to have received the Curator’s Award.
Working on my “Wild and Free” Series
The launching of a new series always involves a lot of time. I am almost ready ! Only a few more details to take care of before I send out my Newsletter announcing my new series, “Wild and Free”. There is going to be a private link that will only be available for my Newsletter subscribers for the first few days of the launch with reduced print prices.

This is a brief slideshow to scroll through.
Off to Africa
Getting ready for another safari! This will be my fourth African safari and I am very excited to be returning to Kenya. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa Claus. African safaris are magical for me. Can’t wait to climb into the Land Cruiser and explore.
Creating ‘Memories of Paris’
Each of the images in my ‘Memories of Paris’ series are from our last trip to Paris in 2017, when we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. It was our fifth trip to Paris.
However, I count my first time in Paris as 1945 when my parents met and were married in the American Cathedral there. They were both serving in the Army during WWII and were stationed in Paris. I was born shortly after my parents returned to America.
Time
I have used my camera as a time capsule where I chronicle the moments and stories of my life, returning to look at time that has passed by. Now I find myself focused more on the present as I press the shutter button. I look for the story before me and know when it is revealed in a subtle yet clear moment.
The Thrill of Safari
If I had to choose only one trip in the world, it would be to go on safari in Africa. What is it about an African safari that draws me in so completely? There are so many amazing places that I have been fortunate to explore in the world but Africa is my favorite.
