About nancy
Photography, for me, has always been about more than capturing aa image — it's about capturing a story.
Before I retired and began devoting more of my time to photography, I was a psychotherapist, listening to my client’s life stories. I loved my work then and I love my work now.
Looking for stories is what I have always done.
“There is always more to see if you look carefully& more to understand if you pay attention to what is around you.
This is what photography is for me”
Nancy Chadwick
My photography takes me around the world, from repeated safaris across Africa — where I've spent countless hours photographing wildlife in their natural habitat — to the quiet, golden landscapes surrounding my home in California.
Each image begins in the field, but its final form comes later, in post-processing, where I use editing software to reshape the photograph into something that feels closer to what I felt when I was there with my camera.
Sometimes I edit my images into painting or drawing-like works of art. Other times, I post-process them more traditionally, as they appeared in the field.
Every print is produced to museum standards on archival Hahnemühle paper, ensuring your piece is as vivid decades from now as the day it arrived. Each is signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity — a lasting record of its place in a limited series.
